July 11 The City of Frostburg will be the site of a pirate invasion as The Children’s Literature Centre at FSU and FrostburgFirst team up to provide a day of pirate merriment, tales and treats. Buccaneer activities including crafts, a treasure-hunt and presentation by children’s author George Ella Lyon will take place throughout the day, beginning with registration at 9:30AM at City Place on Water Street and Palace Theatre on Main Street. Visiting pirates will be challenged to discover the secret pirates’ den, where pirate stories and songs will be shared. All are encouraged to dress as pirates. Frostburg businesses and restaurants will be open, with special bargains for visiting buccaneers. The event is free and open to the public.
